Watch: Goalies John Gibson and Petr Mrazek get into scrum in INTENSE clash during Ducks-Hawks game

Perhaps the heavy beating got into the head of the Ducks player which lead to them losing their cool. The brawl erupted when young Mason McTavish took on Jarred Tinordi . The two players would get involved and grabbed each other which quickly escalated the clash.

Few moments later, defenseman Radko Gudas would find himself fighting MacKenzie Entwistle and even landed some punches on the Blackhawks star. This led to goalie Petr Mrazek stepping in to stop the fight.

Seeing this drama unfold away from his net, Ducks goalie John Gibson skated forward and crossed the red line. He would throw away his gloves and grab his counterpart. He though was unable to land any punches as the officials got between them and tried to calm down the situation.

John Gibson ejected from game for his actions

While the NHL fans on the internet enjoyed seeing goalie John Gibson battle it out with Petr Mrazek, his actions had some consequences. The two goalies were handed 12-penalty minutes. However, Gibson was the only one who was removed from the game.

The 30-year-old was ejected from the match as he had crossed the center red line. This is considered an offence which usually results in penalties.

However, in this case, Gibson not only crossed the line (quite literally), he also threw his gloves aside and got into a fight. This was the reason why the officials ejected him from the game. The Ducks who were already 6-2 down at this moment, would later send in Luke Dostal to see out the rest of the game.

Dostal would end up facing five shots and conceding one goal as the Blackhawks run out as 7-2 winners. This turned out to be the second straight game where the Chicago-based side scored seven in a game with Connor Bedard shining once again with a five-point game.
