Kyle Van Noy Shouts Out Chargers Amidst Reports of Him Not Returning in 2023
USA TODAY Sports

Most professional athletes eventually find out one way or another that the association they play for is still a business. Even the most talented of NFL, NBA, and MLB stars have been dealt away or robbed of money by the same franchises they thought believed in them.

Obviously, those have been the worst of cases and other times, a front office just wants to go in a different direction and that means that there isn't any space for certain players. This is exactly what happened with a former Chargers' veteran LB Kyle Van Noy.

Noy suited up for 17 games in his lone season with the Bolts where he recorded 46 combined tackles and brought forth a level of toughness and championship experience the squad thrived off of. However, that 2022 Chargers' squad ended their year in misery and looked to make some changes this year.

Whether it was because of money or his age, it was revealed by Noy himself that the Chargers are not interested in re-signing him for the 2023 season and he will look elsewhere to play from now on.

LA's fanbase was pretty disappointed to hear this news as they loved everything that the 32-year-old brought to the table and many took to Twitter to thank him for his time with age squad.

Noy responded to a couple of fans thanking them and even though he was sad about their decisions, he also gave the team a shoutout ahead of the new campaign.

"Yeahh disappointed but the show goes on blake! Y’all will be really good. Improved in all areas just need to add a safety and another corner on defense yall will be straight! You have plenty of leaders. K Mack , DJ and newly acquired beast Eric K will be great. Excited for yall"

Noy also continued and revealed that his age was a huge factor in him not returning and he has more to spill about the whole situation later down the line.

"Appreciate it! I’m used to it now. They said they want to go younger …. So the show goes on to somewhere else. I will get to say things when I’m done playing about a lot of stuff. Excited about that. Write my notes and thoughts down and express them when the time is right."

Nonetheless, we certainly do appreciate the passion Noy played with each match and wish him the best of luck moving forward.
