The Sacramento Kings have wrapped up their 2023 preseason action, going 1-4 with their lone win against the Utah Jazz. The Kings have proven they have impressive depth, with their two-way players and deep bench talent stepping up in the preseason.
The Kings having a solidified bench unit was a casualty for players fighting for a roster spot, as Shams Charania of The Athletic reported on Thursday night that Sacramento waived G Jaylen Nowell .

Nowell, 24, spent his first four seasons with the Minnesota Timberwolves before hitting 2023 free agency. The Kings picked him up late in the off-season, but Nowell struggled to find a role in the preseason rotation, playing just 13 minutes in five games.
The 6'4" guard averaged 10.8 points for Minnesota last season and should have no trouble finding a new home for 2023-24. While many teams have their rosters set by this point of the season, Nowell is a talented player and deserves an opportunity somewhere.
The Kings' roster is down to 17 total players, including three two-way spots. They have room to sign one more player, or they could roll into the season with a free roster spot with flexibility for mid-season moves.
